Addictions & Compulsive Behaviours

Alcohol, vaping, sugar, scrolling, shopping: break the cycle by healing the need the habit was meeting.

Every addiction is an attempt to feel something, or to stop feeling something

Willpower fails because it fights the symptom while the cause stays untouched. Underneath nearly every compulsive behaviour is an unmet need: relief, connection, control, escape, comfort.

In RTT we find what your habit has been doing for you, heal the root that created the need, and give your mind better ways to meet it. When the need dissolves, the craving loses its grip. No white-knuckle battle required.

Common patterns I work with

  • Alcohol, smoking & vaping
  • Sugar, snacking & emotional eating
  • Doomscrolling, gaming & screen compulsion
  • Shopping, gambling & other dopamine loops
  • Nail-biting, skin-picking & nervous habits

Done with the cycle?

Tell me about the habit on a free discovery call. Judgement-free, always.

Frequently asked questions

I’ve quit a dozen times before. Why would this stick?

Because quitting by willpower leaves the reason for the habit intact, so it pulls you back. RTT removes the underlying driver, which is why the change feels less like resisting and more like simply not needing it anymore.

Do I need to hit rock bottom first?

Absolutely not. The best time to change a pattern is the moment you decide you’re done with it. Catching it early just makes the work easier.

Is this suitable for serious substance dependence?

For physical dependencies, hypnotherapy works best alongside medical supervision, since detoxing from some substances requires a doctor’s care. I’m happy to be part of a wider support team.
